Harrow Valley wants everyone to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we've done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. Press Tab to move, and look for the red focus outline.
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Text colors meet AA contrast. Links are underlined, so they don't rely on color.
- The site uses no scripts, no animation, and no autoplaying media.
- Photos have text descriptions. The campus map has a table with the same information.
- Pages reflow on a phone and at 400% zoom, and respect your browser's text size.
Known issues
Some documents posted on this site are deliberately hard to read. They're part of The Neuroaccessible Environment, a workshop where people practice making documents clearer. Their wording is the problem on purpose, but the pages that hold them are built to the same standard as the rest of the site.
