Policy 7.14: Campus Safety and Facilities Access
1. Purpose
This policy sets out who may use Harrow Valley buildings, grounds, and parking, and when. It keeps the campus open to the community while protecting the people who work and study here.
2. Who this covers
Students, employees, and non-affiliated persons: guests, vendors, contractors, prospective students and their families, and people attending non-credit programs.
3. Access during operating hours
Campus buildings are open to the public during regular operating hours, as listed in Appendix C. Some rooms, such as labs and offices, are open only to students and employees.
4. Access outside operating hours
Outside regular operating hours, only students and employees with a current Harrow Valley ID, and guests with written approval from Campus Safety, may be in campus buildings.
5. Parking
Everyone who parks on campus must follow the posted lot rules. Non-affiliated persons follow the Visitor Parking, Identification, and Campus Access Procedures. Accessible parking is covered by Policy 7.15. Fines are listed in the Schedule of Parking Fines.
6. Events and outside groups
Outside groups using college space sign the Facilities Use Agreement. All events follow the Event Space Reservation Procedures.
7. Responsibility
The Director of Campus Safety, Facilities, and Risk Management carries out this policy and may issue procedures under it. Questions go to the Campus Safety Office, Room B-114, ext. 4417.
